You know you're an adult when...

Yesterday’s post started me remembering stuff I would rather forget. I remember when I moved out of the family home, I was hugging my Mum good-bye and told her I’d drop over in a couple of days. She replied with something along the lines of “I need your key, this isn’t your home anymore. Your home is…”. Wow! That still sucks!! I couldn’t imagine saying anything remotely like that to the Princess.

A few months later my parents moved to a condo. A two bedroom condo. The second room was designated for my youngest sister who lived out West. It was called Virgo’s room. I remember wondering why…

There were times when my living situation was a “trifle” iffy. I never felt “home” was an option. I knew I was on my own. Definitely an adult. Not anyone’s beloved adult child.
