Negotiating Life's Emotional Challenges

I have to say suddenly having internet access is a treat! I doubt I’ll take it for granted again. Well, I won’t take it for granted until the next time I am without it. Which may be any minute ‘cause when I hit save my computer tells me I’m not connected so can’t save. It’s all very frustrating. I am making every effort to consider this a challenge which facilitates personal growth.
There are many challenges in life which “facilitate” our personal growth. Some allow for more growth than others; some just remind us of the general fragility of life and relationships.
In our personal relationships we may not feel emotionally able to speak freely. We may worry about the impact and consequences of our words. We make every effort, speaking for myself here, to be open, but our openness can be tempered by our perception of how our words will be received. Confused yet?
Life and relationships can be and, often are, confusing. It doesn’t matter how “grown up” we may be or how emotionally mature.
This leads me to consider how challenging life often is when we are an adolescent or young adult. We have all the same insecurities and concerns as older adults, but without the life experience to support us as we navigate through life’s rough spots.
Communication isn’t easy…even when we’re good at it.
